Arts Education & Outreach

Since the very beginning of her professional career, Elizabeth Oakes has been a leader and innovator in arts education and outreach. During her graduate work at the Cleveland Institute of Music with the Maia Quartet, Ms. Oakes received intensive training from members of the Cavani Quartet as part of the Institute’s Apprentice Quartet Program. It was during that time the Ms. Oakes discovered her love of bringing music to audiences through innovative educational programming. She continued her training by working with Young Audiences, Arts Excel and Midori and Friends. As a member of the Maia Quartet, Ms. Oakes went on to develop numerous programs for both children and adults; these programs have been performed all over the country under the auspices of such organizations as Chamber Music Northwest, Aspen Music Festival and the 92nd Street Y.
